The National Golf Tournament

Come out and join So What Else as we take on our 4th year serving as volunteers at the National Golf Tournament in Potomac, Maryland. As a volunteer you will be serving food at the concessions.

Volunteers must be at least 16 to participate. Time slots are filling up fast, sign up for you desired slot only if you plan to attend. Please do not sign up if you will not attend or respond back to email regarding this particular upcoming event.

SHIFTS ARE PROVIDED BELOW ! Specify desired shift(s) in email you plan to send.

Food, drinks and a break are all included per shift.

For the past 3 years, So What Else has helped Benjamin Banneker Historical Park in the success of this
event. This event is a community/family friendly fair.

As a volunteer, you will be needed to set-up tents, assist with setting up (moving tables, chairs, supply boxes), parking attendants, take down tents, return tables, chairs and supply boxes.

Come out and help So What Else support An Earthly Embrace for their 3rd Annual Purple Laces 5K. Purple Laces is a race to support the mission of An Earthly Embrace to heal, empower, and rebuild the lives of people impacted by domestic violence.

This family and community event will feature music, exhibits, kids fun zone, and refreshments.

Volunteers are needed from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm to help with children’s activities, setting up and breaking down the event, and serving refreshments to 5K participants.  Volunteers must be 14 & up.

A Wider Circle's Race to End Poverty

Run, walk, or sponsor, The Race to End Poverty is a race we can all enter. So What Else will be joining A Wider Circle and hundreds of their closest friends on April 15 at Meadowbrook Park in Chevy Chase, MD. We will be entering the 5K race (kids 10 and under are free). Fruit Tree Festival

The Baltimore Orchard Project will be hosting a Fruit Tree Festival with some help from So What Else. Volunteers are needed to help out with setting up and breaking down the event, games for youth, open mic, music, fruit tree giveaways and guided workshops by an arborist.

Fruit Trees that will be given away are:

- Serviceberries

- Paw Paws

- Brown Turkey Figs

- North American Persimmons

- Beach Plums

Some activities for youth that will be there are:

- Fruit tree puppets and making puppets

- Making pompoms for the fruit trees

- Dancing sing along about pruning

- Funky Fruit photobooth

- Fruit tree sac races

This event is for Baltimore Residents only!

This festival will give folks to opportunity to connect with the Youth Education team at the Baltimore Orchard Project and learn more about the programming they offer.

Annual Cherry Blossom Festival

Hundreds of thousands of visitors come to the National Mall Memorial Parks every year to enjoy the beautiful cherry trees. Lots of visitors equal lots of waste, much of which can be recycled. So What Else will be helping National Park Service remove trash and recyclable material from the festival's grounds. As a volunteer you will be given trash grabbers to collect recyclables. Volunteers will also help remove full bags from recycling containers and replace them with empty bags. Gloves, trash grabbers and cool shirts will be provided.
